A small studio in Jaipur,
a wardrobe with a memory.
We started Gaurja in 2019 above a hand-block printing workshop in Sanganer. The smell of indigo on the stairs every morning. Iqbal bhai turning his wooden blocks at 6 am like he had for forty years before us. That is the brand.
The Craft
Eleven pairs of hands.
Each garment passes through eleven pairs of hands before it reaches yours. The block carver. The dyer. The printer. The washer. The cutter. The tailor. The embroiderer. The finisher. The quality checker. The packer. The post office aunty at GPO Jaipur. We name them all on the inside label.
